Fostering Traditional Music and Dance in the Pacific Northwest

The heart of the community

Bubbaville is a Portland, Ore.-based nonprofit organization named after the late, great square dance caller and community organizer Bill “Bubba” Martin. We serve to bring together musicians, dancers and other friends of old time Appalchian music on the West Coast, and each January we present the Portland Old Time Music Gathering. Let’s meet!

Join us at the 2024 Gathering

The 24th annual Portland Old Time Gathering is set to take place Jan. 12-15, 2023 with a new central venue: The Alberta Abbey in Northeast Portland. Join us for jams, concerts, square dancing, workshops and generally awesome people.

Looking for our support?

Over the last 10 years, Bubbaville has provided funding, promotion and more for dozens of different projects tied to our mission. The organization has brought to the Portland region numerous performers and teachers. We’ve also funded campouts, albums, dances and more. Have an idea for a project? Let us know!
