Saturday day ticket (good until 6:30 pm) or All-Inclusive Wristband is required for all daytime events at alberta abbey. saturday night ticket or All-Inclusive wristband is required for entry to the concert and venue after 6:30 pm. Kids 16 and under are Free. see tickets page for details.

Fiddle Workshop – Sammy Lind
Come add two or three new tunes to your repertoire! Sammy will teach tunes from fiddle heroes John Ashby and Garry Harrison. Level is intermediate/advanced and tunes will be broken down phrase by phrase with a lot of repetition to really get a good feel for the melodies.

1:15-2:15 pm

Mandolin Workshop – Caleb Klauder
Caleb will be focusing on the fiddle tune “Paddy on the Turnpike” (key of G), exploring some left hand slides and working to speed it up and groove it up. We will also look at playing the same tune up the neck. All levels are welcome!

2:30-3:30 pm

Blues Banjo Picking Workshop – Hubby Jenkins
This workshop will focus on the basics of blues banjo picking through the music of Gus Cannon. Hubby will break down a few rolls, patterns and techniques to get you started on your blues journey.

4:00-5:00 pm

Vocal Harmony Workshop – Gabrielle Macrae
Come learn how to find the sometimes-elusive third part in a three-part harmony.

5:00-6:30 pm

A crankie is a storytelling art form in which illustrated scrolls (illuminated from behind) are hand-cranked with a spoken narrative or music in the background. These “moving panoramas” captivate kids and adults alike! See a wonderful crankie here.
